Investment Consulting Process

As your Financial Advisor, our goal is to understand your financial circumstances and create a customized investment strategy to achieve your desired objectives. Throughout this process, we will work closely with you to keep you informed and in control of your investment portfolio. By carefully allocating your investable assets, monitoring the progress of your portfolio, and communicating with you regularly, our aim is to ensure that you fully understand the progress of your portfolio toward meeting your goals.

Introductory Meeting

We’ll review obstacles and uncertainties facing inves­tors today and explain the importance of utilizing a disciplined investment approach. We’ll also introduce our Six-Step Investment Process and our investment management team.

 

discDiscovery Session

The foundation of wealth management is uncovering clients’ key financial needs. Without this, all of the specialized financial expertise in the world is of little use.

 

To comprehend your entire financial picture and most important your values, relationships and dreams, this first meeting focuses on you and what is important to you.

 

At this meeting we’ll work with you to complete your Discovery Workbook, which allows us to develop an in-depth picture of your financial position, your goals and objectives, and your tolerance for risk.

Solutions Meeting

Once we clearly understand your financial objectives and have established your Risk/Return profile, we can develop and present either a customized “Financial Compass” Plan, Investment Proposal and/or Investment Policy Statement (IPS) tailored to your current financial situation.

Implementation Meeting

At this meeting we will answer any questions you may have about our approach and recommended Investment Proposal. Should you choose to work with us, we’ll have you sign all of the necessary documents to establish and fund your investment accounts(s).

45-Day Review Meeting

After we’ve established your investment account, we’ll meet again to discuss and review your investment strategy, go over the materials you’ll receive, and answer any of your questions.

Ongoing Progress Monitoring  

An integral part of the investment process is our ongoing oversight of your portfolio. Periodically, we will meet with you to review your portfolio and your personal financial circumstances to ensure that your investment strategy remains aligned with your risk tolerance, long-term financial objectives and goals. As your circumstances evolve, and you are faced with either expected or unexpected life events, we will help you make informed decisions that keep you on track toward your desired financial future.

Communication

As your Financial Advisor, we believe that maintaining regular contact is essential to keeping you well informed about your investments. We’re always available to meet with you individually, and we provide an ongoing communication program that offers you far more than a monthly statement. Not only do you get constant access to account information, but you receive clear, concise, and timely reporting of everything you want to know about your accounts and the investment markets.

Changes to Your Portfolio

Asset allocations are not static. Market returns may cause them to expand or contract at different rates. Periodically, we will re-assess your portfolio. Depending on the asset allocation approach used, assets within your portfolio may be rebalanced or reallocated.

When market returns have caused asset allocations to extend beyond predetermined limits, the account(s) in your portfolio may be rebalanced back to the target mix.

Reallocating

As our market outlook evolves, the mix of asset classes in your account(s) may be changed to capture opportunities or manage risk.

Custodial Statements

Your assets are always held by a third-party custodian, who will provide you with custodial statements to confirm the holdings, values, and transactions in your accounts. If you have a taxable account, the custodian will also provide you with taxable capital gain/loss information to simplify your tax reporting, either as part of the statements or via a separate year-end tax report.
